ST Anthonys put up an intimidating total on day one of the Gisborne District Cricket Association B grade semi-final against Macedon on Saturday.
Cam Clayton (69), Luke Castle (56) and Jeremy Hibbert (52) all passed 50 for St Anthonys as the team posted 289.
In the other semi-final, Gisborne (2-99) accounted for Sunbury United (62) within the opening day.
Peter Sankey took 5-19 off 16 overs as Sunbury United was bowled out within 45 overs.
Daniel Trevillian (58no) ensured there would be no slip-ups in the Gisborne chase.
In McIntyre Cup, Sunbury had 221 to defend against Wallan off the back of 61 from Matt Burrowes and 62no from Jason McGann.
In the other semi-final, Woodend was 1-8 in reply to Sunbury United’s 182.
In C grade, Diggers Rest Bulla Village set 6-288 against Woodend with four batsmen passing 50, while East Sunbury was 1-2 at stumps chasing Ashfield’s 154 in the other semi-final.
