Music fans are in for a treat when two of Melbourne’s brightest singer-songwriters perform in Bacchus Marsh.
Georgia Fields and Phia are nearing the end of an Australian tour that will hit Baby Black Espresso Bar this Saturday (August 5).
The duo have been sharing the stage and each other’s songs, accompanying one another on everything from kalimba to casio and electric guitar to tambourine for their Sky and Sea Tour.
Indie-pop musician Fields, whose parents were in Australian band The Ferrits, said she was glad to be back in familiar territory in Bacchus Marsh.
“I’ve played here once before and I loved the vibe,” she said.
“Phia and I have been collaborating for a number of years, since a chance encounter six years ago at an open mic night in Paris.
“We were both travelling around and playing music and we found that … we achieve three times as much with the two of us together.
“It can feel a bit isolating when you are abroad.”
The duo’s shows reimagines each of their most recent albums, Fields’
Astral Debris and Phia’s The Ocean of Everything.
“It’s really collaborative,” Fields said. “It’s dynamic – we’re both multi-instrumentalists and we’ll be swapping around a bit. I think our friendship really shows on stage.”
