November 16, 1977

Altona City Council has sprung to the defence of its policy of opposing the establishment of any further offensive industries at Laverton North. Werribee Shire Council at its October meeting decided to grant a permit for the establishment of an abattoirs and meat works despite opposition from Altona and Sunshine councils.

November 11, 1987

Fears that a snake infested neighbourhood in Werribee will worsen because of a “plague” of mice has led three Werribee mothers to consider selling up their homes and has left others horrified that their children might be killed. They are sick and tired of worrying about the dangers that nearby overgrown vacant land pose to their children, who, they say, face daily the natural fire hazards and the vermin nests which surround the nearby properties.
