Artist talk

Renowned artist Geoffrey Ricardo will talk about his public art commission, Spirits of Time and Place, featuring giant sculptures along the new Kororoit Creek Trail. It’s on August 10 from 6.30pm at Altona’s Joel Gallery, which is running an associated exhibition by schoolchildren until August 10. RSVP for the artist talk by August 8.

Friday frivolities

Fridays are better than Mondays, an immersive night of art, music and poetry, will take place as part of Due West: Immersive Arts Festival (August 10-27). From 6.30pm-late on Friday, August 11 at FCAC’s Performance Space.

A festival of light

West Projections Festival will appear across 28 locations throughout the streets of Footscray from August 11-27. The launch will be held 6-9pm August 12 at The Line, 4 Yewers Lane, featuring spoken word artist Soreti Kadir and V.J. Carla Zimblar.
