TAC Cup: Western Jets downed by Chargers

WESTERN Jets started well but had no answers to a second-quarter burst that set it on course for a 47-point loss against Oakleigh Chargers at the weekend.

The Jets trailed by just three points at quarter-time but were left behind as the Chargers kicked six goals to one in the second term to set up the 14.8 (92) to 6.9 (45) win.

The second half was more of a grind with the Chargers kicking five goals to three.

Daniel Castellano and Thomas Jehle booted two goals each as the Jets’ only multiple-goal kickers.

Listed best were Sam Critchley, Jake McKenzie, David Iaccarino, Ashlin Brown, Charlie Nastasi and Harley Walshe.

The Jets go in search of their first win on Saturday with an 11am game against Eastern Ranges at Highgate Reserve in Craigieburn.
