WHAT’S ON: Melton, Moorabool

CAR SHOW

Owners of custom cars and bikes are invited to register for the Djerriwarrh Festival’s custom car and bike show. The event will run from noon-4pm, November 9, with set-up from 9-11am. At Melton Recreation Reserve, Reserve Road, Melton. Cost: $5 for cars and bikes. Funds raised go to Melton Lions Club.

QUITE A YARN

Entries for this year’s Melton short- story competition close at 5.30pm this Friday. Work can be in print, by illustration, video, verse, voice, or combinations of these mediums. Entries should be less than 1500 words or five minutes. Forms are available at Melton Civic Centre.

FAMILY FUN DAY

Free activities for families celebrating Children’s Week include arts and crafts, stories, sports, music, a sausage sizzle, fire engine tour, and police car and ambulance displays. Meet children’s services staff and find out more about the programs on offer in Melton. From 10am-1pm, October 22, at Melton Community Hall, 232 High Street, Melton.
