Rockbank pulled off one of its greatest ever wins, knocking off Diggers Rest in the Riddell District Netball League.
Gaining confidence after their second win for the year, the Rams were confident they could match it with the Burras and showed exactly that.
After trailing by a goal at quarter-time, the Rams turned the tables to lead by five goals at half-time.
The margin blew out to 11 at the final break, before the Burras responded but they weren’t able to get close enough, with the Rams winning 39-31.
The Rams’ Rebecca Hicks was clearly the best shooter on court, shooting 31 goals from 37, with every other shooter on court shooting below 65 per cent.
Goal attack Shelby Strong was named the Burras best. The win means the Rams have already won more games than they did last season. They sit percentage outside the top six, but have played one less game than the sixth-placed Burras.
For the Burras, it’s their third loss in four games after starting the season strong.
Melton Centrals’ tough season has continued after they were smashed by Riddell.
The Bombers led at every break and were able to extend the lead in every quarter, winning 55-32. Taylor-Jane Pereira was the Centrals best. The win leaves Centrals, who are normally cemented in the top six, sitting ninth with just one win.
In other results, Macedon was too good for Romsey winning 38-32, Woodend-Hesket got its second win of the season defeating Broadford 40-32, while Rupertswood and Wallan had a 34 all draw.
