It was a Saturday afternoon to forget for Melton in the Ballarat Football League at the weekend.
The Bloods were handed an almighty smashing, going down to Redan by 173 points.
Melton had to wait until the third quarter to register its first major, while the club’s supporters were able to celebrate only one more goal for the rest of the afternoon. The 29.13 (187) – 2.2 (14) loss is Melton’s fifth of the year and leaves the Bloods eighth of 11 on the ladder.
It also dealt a huge blow to the club’s percentage, which dropped 17 points. Lachlan Hickey (pictured) finished with one of Melton’s goals while Cameron McCallum kicked the other.
The Bloods meet local rival Bacchus Marsh this weekend.
