Charge makes it two in a row

Jordyn Charge’s good form has continued claimed his first feature race win tin the 410 Sprintcar competition.

Fresh off his 360 Sprintcar Gold Cup victory the previous week, Charge returned to the 410 format for the fifth round of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series at Wangaratta City Speedway.

Charge started on the second row for the 30-lap feature race after finishing fourth in the pole shootout, after a first and seventh placed finishes in the two races.

The 20-year-old moved up to second place on the opening lap and quickly setting about his task of chasing down race leader Bobby Daly.

Charge took the lead at the halfway mark against his more experienced opponent and didn’t put a put wrong after that to stay in front for the rest of the race.

“The moment I realised I won was a pretty spectacular moment for me and taking the chequered flag was fairly surreal,” said Charge.

“When you’re going up against guys who have been racing for a lot longer than you and

have so much more experience, it’s hard not to second guess yourself a bit, but we really

tried to put all of that aside and focus on what we needed to do, which paid off in the end.”

The win has moved Charge from ninth up to fifth in the series rankings.
