A new era of sorts is starting at Sunbury Lions after four key players left the club to sign for Essendon Doutta Stars last week.
Premiership captain Jay Cheep, Simon Clarke, Ross Sleight and Jamie Lobb were all unveiled by the Essendon District Football League premier division outfit last week.
Rick Horwood has signed on as Sunbury coach for two seasons as the Lions look to avenge this year’s Ballarat Football League grand final loss to North Ballarat City.
