BNL: Darley fights but goal splurge makes run home easy

ONE high-scoring quarter was enough for Sunbury to see off Darley’s challenge and square its season at one win and one loss in Ballarat Netball League A grade.

The 46-29 result means both teams are one-and-one through the first two rounds.

Sunbury edged to a nine-goal lead at half-time before an 18-6 third quarter left it with a 21-goal safety net heading into the fourth.

Michelle Robertson (18) and Sophie Gunn (17) shared the scoring load, while midcourters Prue Stanley and Lauren Gilchrist were among the better players.

Talei Bari and Alix Edwards were Darley’s best in defeat.
