WDCA: Melton South into grand final

MELTON South is through to the grand final of B2 turf after a starring tandem role from its opening bowlers against Newport-Digman.

South made 157 at Bryan Martin Oval in Newport after being sent in, only to bounce back by bowling out Newport-Digman for 126. Tristan Batten claimed 5-41.

Dominic Grero followed up his first-innings 73 by making 48no in the second dig as Melton South compiled 5-122 off the remaining 26 overs.

Gellibrand defeated Wyndhamvale in the other semi-final. In C Composite, Melton Central (6-174) chased down Point Cook’s 165 to set up a grand final against Grand United.
