Youths charged after shop theft

Police have arrested two youths, after the alleged theft of approximately $1000 worth of merchandise from a sports store at Tarneit Central Shopping Centre.

The alleged theft occurred yesterday around 1.40pm, after five youths entered the store.

After being seen while allegedly stealing products, the youths ran from the scene and two of them were caught by police, after a foot chase.

A 17-year-old Melton South youth and a 17-year-old Truganina youth were both charged and bailed to appear at the Werribee Children’s Court in January, on theft-related charges.

The other three youths remain outstanding, but police have CCTV images of the alleged theft.
