Aspiring rock gods, listen up – it’s your time to shine.
Bacchus Marsh community theatre company Performing Arts Headquarters has sounded the call for auditions for its production of the musical We Will Rock You.
Actors, singers, dancers and musicians of all ages are being invited to give it a shot in the auditions, which will run until March 10. The performances will be in August and September.
Director John Paul said no experience was needed to audition.
“Part of our mantra is to provide opportunities for people to get involved in theatre,” Paul said. “They’ll never get good at it if they don’t come and give it a go. We’ve got a rock band teed up and all we need now is a cast.”
We Will Rock You, written by Ben Elton, has rocked more than 6.5 million people in 12 years in London and toured Australia three times. The score includes Queen classics such as Radio Ga Ga, I Want to Break Free, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You.
