The Ballan Fire Brigade is calling on the community to lend a helping hand in collecting donations for the Good Friday Appeal.

The local brigade has been raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital since 1990, and this year they’re hoping to recruit more volunteers to help “fill the cups.”

Families and young children supervised by an adult are all welcome to volunteer on the day.

Group Communications Officer, Ian Ireland said all volunteers will be provided with a light lunch, kindly prepared by the brigade’s ladies auxiliary.

“CFA brigades across Victoria take great pride in raising funds for the Good Friday Appeal, contributing more than $20,000 each year,” Mr Ireland said.

“We do this because it’s about giving back to our communities.”

Community members interested in helping out can meet at the Ballan Fire Station at 9am on Friday, April 18. Collections will wrap up by midday.
