You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t been affected by cancer.

So it’s no surprise that each time retirement villages Coburn and Brooklyn Gardens host a fundraiser for the Cancer Council, residents eagerly donate their money and time to help out.

On Thursday, they will host their third Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

Coburn Gardens manager Deonne King said residents had raised $1000 over the past two years.

“Cancer affects everybody,” Ms King said. “It’s a shocking disease and everybody wants it gone.”

Melton residents are invited to the event, which will run from 9-10.30am on Thursday, May 25, at Brooklyn Gardens, 23 Coburns Road, Brookfield.

Entry is by gold coin donation with plenty of opportunity to donate throughout the morning. Details: 9747 9778
