Roundabout to be upgraded in Melton after safety concerns

A roundabout in Melton which is cause for safety concerns will get an upgrade.

The intersection located at Taylors Road and Westwood Drive is currently one of Melton’s busiest.

The roundabout will be turned into a signalised intersection designed to improve flow.

Included in the plans are a road expansion, new pedestrian crossings, public lighting, landscaping and relocation of underground services.

The project is valued at $5.3 million, with construction expecting to start in late 2022 and finish in mid 2023.

Feedback on the project can be submitted to council, due before December 3.
