Thirty-one businesses from across Melton have been named as finalists in this year’s Melton Business Excellence Awards.
After receiving more than 140 nominations for the annual awards, Melton council last week announced the finalists, who will be competing for awards in categories including retail, community contribution and the mayoral achievement award.
Melton mayor Bob Turner said the calibre of entrants and finalists was high.
“It has been an incredibly competitive year and it was difficult for the judges to pick a shortlist from a long list of talented and worthy businesses who help make our community tick,” he said.
“I would like to congratulate each of our finalists for making it this far.
“We’re incredibly grateful for each of the businesses who put their hands up to sponsor the event.”
The winners will be announced at the awards gala at Tabcorp Park on August 31. The event will be hosted by singer and entertainer Paris Zachariou.
Two businesses will be inducted into the Awards Hall of Fame at the event.
