Man shot by police after fatal Hillside stabbing

A man was stabbed to death in Hillside early on Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to reports that a man had been stabbed at a Chris Court address about 6.50am on Friday October 4.

When police arrived they located a male on the front lawn of the property, with critical injuries.

The officers attempted CPR but the man died at the scene.

Police were then confronted by another man armed with an edged weapon. Police attempted to negotiate with the man before he advanced toward them. Officers discharged a firearm and the male was struck to the lower body.
