Parkwood Green Primary School pupils are looking forward to turning in sparkling performances when their Journey Through Oz show hits the stage.
The school’s pupils – including two casts, with Emma and Ganeev sharing the role of Dorothy – have been toiling away for weeks, rehearsing, perfecting a set of the Emerald City and making props and costumes for the November production.
About 400 students are involved in the show.
Director Jacqueline Hermina said the show would be full of colour, upbeat tunes and some “intense moments” between the Wicked Witch and Dorothy.
“I hope students get the experience of what it is like to work in the theatre professionally,”
Ms Hermina said.
“All of these students have such talent and it would be wonderful to hopefully see them follow this path and participate in musicals and plays as they go through their school years. I would also like to think they get involved in local amateur theatre companies. I hope they make friendships with students in other year levels and learn how to work together.
“There is so much talent at Parkwood Green Primary school and it is so wonderful that we can showcase it.
“I know our audience will be delighted to watch it.”
The production will be performed at the Quin Auditorium, Braybrook, on November 1
and 2.
