Eynesbury Homestead may be closed for renovations, but there’s still plenty happening over the summer months.
The homestead, which is operated by the Resimax Group, recently started opening up their grounds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with food trucks, pop up bars, local artists and DJs, and kids entertainment livening up the grounds.
Resimax chief executive Steve Hooker said it was exciting to be doing something new at the Homestead, and keeping people visiting while the renovations took place.
“We wanted to make the most of the summer, and provide some awesome experiences and events for our residents in the area,” Mr Hooker said.
“We’re putting on what we’re calling ‘The Big Weekend’, and we had a few hundred people attend the first couple that we’ve done which is really pleasing.
“The aim is to make it a family friendly place where people can come down, grab a bite to eat and a drink on the grounds and just relax over summer.”
While the events are weather dependent, the Homestead plans to run events each week over the summer months
With the Homestead set to re-open in the second quarter of 2020, Mr Hooker said they would try a number of different things over the summer to keep things fresh.
“We’ll change things up a bit, give people different food offerings and entertainment options to make sure it stays interesting and exciting for everyone,” he said.
“We want to keep the place active, and have lots of interactive things for people living in the are, and also those that are maybe of thinking of coming to the area in future.
“The early response has been really positive so far.”
The Big Weekend will run every Friday and Saturday from 12pm – 9pm and Sundays from 11am – 5pm.
