Five teens have been charged over a series of alleged thefts from motor vehicles in Eynesbury and an alleged car theft in Weir Views.
Melton Volume Crime Unit investigators charged four boys and one girl aged between 15 and 17 from Melton, Brookfield and Kurunjang.
Charges included aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle, obtaining financial advantage by deception, theft from motor vehicle, obtaining property by deception, unlicensed driving, leaving the scene of an accident and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
Two of the teens were remand in custody to appear before court today.
Another two were remanded in custody to appear at the a children’s court at a later date.
Police did not comment on the outcome of the fifth teen.
In a Facebook post on Melton’s Eyewatch page, police said they “wish to thank the public for their assistance in supplying valuable evidence and information in relation to these crimes.”
