Hundreds of works will fill the Bacchus Marsh Public Hall for Rotary’s upcoming art show.
Now in its 48th year, the art show is the club’s major annual fundraiser held over Queen’s Birthday weekend.
Organising committee secretary Davina Cabrie said the event has developed a considerable following over the years.
“It’s about showcasing and encouraging the work of local and national artists but, more importantly, the show supports and helps to fund the Rotary of Bacchus Marsh projects,” Ms Cabrie said.
“Locally, we run breakfast clubs in schools twice a week and we also have the Let’s Read program to encourage a culture of reading in young children.”
Other Rotary projects funded by the art show include working with the CFA to replace smoke alarm batteries at the homes of elderly residents, youth exchange and leadership programs.
The exhibition includes about 650 paintings, watercolours, metalworks and sculptures from local, state and interstate artists.
The art show’s opening night will be held on June 8.
