A group of eight lucky Bacchus Marsh locals have won big with a share of $2.86 million from the weekend Tattslotto draw.

The eight people were part of a store syndicate, which held one of seven division one winning entries in draw 4271 on Saturday June 25.

The winners will each score $358,361 as their share of the prize.

The shares in the winning syndicate were purchased at the Bacchus Marsh Newsagency on Main Street.

Bacchus Marsh Newsagency owner Pete Drever said the winning store syndicate had been running for more than a decade and it was incredible for the locals to finally win a division one prize.

“We know all the share owners and they’re all locals,” Mr Drever said.

“I reached out to the syndicate members this morning and some of them have stated that they are going to share the win with loved ones doing it tough, extend their holidays, and pay off their mortgages.

“The win could not have come at a better time. People are struggling with the cost of living now and this win will help a lot of families, it’s also great news for the township in general.

“Although we have had some division one wins over the last ten or so years, the buzz of a new win is always special so we plan to celebrate with the town and decorate our outlet.”
