National Tree Day was a family affair at Cobblebank estate, Atherstone, on Sunday 31 July.
Developer Lendlease gave away free trees to Atherstone homeowners.
Residents could choose between a Natchez crepe myrtle or a Kings Park Special bottlebrush tree.
A Lendlease spokesperson said the intiative was “a wonderful way to inject even more nature into homes and an opportunity for chidren to learn how to plant and nurture a tree and watch it flourish into a beautiful shady canopy through all seasons – vibrant crimson leaves in autumn, and blooming flowers in spring”.
Those families who took the opportunity to collect a tree also enjoyed entertainment provided by a musician and free coffee and sweet treats.
