Melton council has given an update on Alfred Road, which is due to reopen after February 10.
Alfred Road is undergoing sewer and road works. These works are associated with subdivision developments and undertaken by multiple contractors.
The road will be closed until February 10 to allow for completion of Phase one of Greater Western Water sewer works and major road upgrade works.
The scope of works include new kerb and channel draining and road sealing.
Melton council acknowledged the disruption caused by the road closure in a Facebook post.
“We know that many residents are keen to have this road reopened as soon as possible as it causing traffic disruptions and inconvenience to residents,” it said.
Alfred Road will be closed again for up to two weeks sometime between March 2023 and July 2023 to facilitate Phase 2 of sewer main works that will be lead by Greater Western Water Authority.
