Do you know an outstanding woman doing wonders in the sporting community?

Djerriwarrh Health Services is calling for nominations for women who have made a significant contribution to sport in a paid or unpaid capacity, as part of the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

DJHS will champion the campaign by recognising local women and highlighting the diverse achievements of females in sporting communities.

Its chief executive Belinda Scott said this was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate Melton women’s achievements.

“Women and girls are breaking through numerous barriers that previously held them back both on and off the sporting field,” Ms Scott said.

“Their achievements provide hope and leadership for girls and women in the region, in not only sporting clubs but all areas of our community.”

Submissions close October 1. Award winners will be announced at a dinner on December 11. For details or to receive a copy of the nomination form, contact healthpromotion@djhs.org.au.
