IN FOCUS: Shopping festival fun for all

The 2019 Central Geelong Shopping Festival + Sidewalk Sales on Tuesday, November 5, will be Central Geelong’s biggest shopping day of the year. It’s a Central Geelong tradition … and it attracted nearly 30,000 people last year, snapping up bargains, eating delicious food, bopping to music and getting a fashion fix.

It also happens to be Melbourne Cup Day – and plenty of venues will screen the big race – but on Central Geelong’s big day, the Form Guide available to attendees will point out possible wins in the fun shopping and pampering on offer from businesses throughout the walkable precinct.

Traders will put out their wares on the footpath, with a huge range of special offers and sale items. Many will also offer great in-store specials. If it’s music you crave with your coffee, head to the Event Hub in Lt Malop Street Central – The Sweethearts are bringing their big-band soul sound to the festival.

Then perhaps mosey over to the Garden Party area to check out the pop-up versions of various Geelong Central businesses. Or rest tired legs and head to the Pamper Marquee for free treatments.

Sweet Street pop-up at the Hub in Lt Malop Street West truly hits the sweet spot with indulgent desserts (go on … it’s a holiday), and you might score a pamper giveaway while there.

Love fashion? The Malop Street Green Spine is your scene, with a fashion parade showcasing the latest spring styles. You can also meet event Ambassador and Geelong Cats AFLW player Anna Teague.

Central Geelong’s reputation as a food destination is rocketing, so don’t miss out on making an early booking at one of the many restaurants and cafes offering lunch specials.

The official Form Guide will be available online from October 25.

Central Geelong Shopping Festival + Sidewalk Sales is an initiative of Central Geelong Marketing.
