Ingenia Gardens Melton residents have raised their cuppas and hundreds of dollars for cancer research.

As part of the Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, residents last month invited members of the community to enjoy a morning filled with tea, cake and fundraising activities, raising more than $500.

Village manager Deonne King said everyone had a great time.

“Sadly, this terrible disease affects so many locals, family and loved ones,” Ms King said.

“It’s [the morning tea] always a great event and made even better knowing we are helping the Cancer Council find a cure.

“The residents were so pleased with their fundraising efforts. There is something very special about a community coming together.”
