The delicious delights of Bacchus Marsh will be on show during the annual Harvest Festival next month.
And if they sign up for bus tours, visitors will get a taste of autumn’s produce, see and learn about local farming practices, and enjoy a three-course lunch and goodies bags.
Bacchus Marsh Tourism Association chairman David Durham says the town is looking forward to hosting foodies from all over the state next month. This year, two farms – Parwan Valley Mushrooms and Balliang Food and Fibre – have been added to the tourists’ roster.
Mr Durham said the annual festival was always a hit because it allowed visitors to see behind the scenes.
“On other days, people come in, buy what they need and leave,” he said. “But during the festival, farmers can actually talk to people about what they do and how they do it.”
The winners of the town’s best vegie patch will be announced at the festival, which will run from 9.30am-3.30pm on Sunday, March 13.
