Kellie Giannes appointed head of new college campus

A lot of progress has been made since Melton Christian College announced the news of its new campus in late 2020.

Over the past eighteen months the school community has watched construction unfold across 83 acres of land on Coburns Road, just north of Central Melton. Excitement has grown in the college community as cranes, steel and trucks have moved across the site. The roof and panels are up on the gymnasium, ground works are continuing, and more infrastructure is being put into place in readiness for classroom buildings and administration.

Melton Christian College has one vision and that is to partner with parents and nurture children through their learning. What happens at the Brookfield campus will happen at Toolern Vale because that one vision will be carried by staff, our students, and the families that join the college.

The person who will lead the vision at Melton Christian College Toolern Vale Campus is someone who is already well respected by the staff, students and parents at the Brookfield campus, Mrs Kellie Giannes.

Kellie Giannes has been part of the MCC community since 1991, with her first teaching stint in 1998. She has witnessed the growth of Melton Christian College over many years and counts it a privilege to serve families across the City of Melton.

“It has been an honour to partner with families in the education of their children over many years, and I am excited to be able to do that at our new campus next year,” Mrs Giannes said.

“An opportunity like this only comes around once in a lifetime! Working alongside Mrs Vamplew, our Head of Primary, puts me in a great position to start the new campus, and I cannot wait to partner with the families that will be starting at Toolern Vale.

“Establishing this new campus and building on the foundations of Christ-centred education, is an honour. We will create the same nurturing and welcoming environment that enables our students to flourish, right here.

“We are really excited for the future as we watch it fill with children and families.”
