It’s show time!

The Bacchus Marsh horticulture and flower show will be blooming in the public hall, Main Street, next weekend. It’s open from noon-5pm on Saturday, October 22, and 9am-4pm on the Sunday. Exhibit entry fees are $2 for adults and $1 for children under 14. Admission is $5 for adults and free
for children under 14.

Pilates on the lawn

Pilates in the Park will be held each Monday at 9.15am from October 17-November 27 at the Taylors Hill Recreation Reserve, Calder Park Drive.

Cycle to your coffee

Join fellow cyclists at Hannah Watts Park on Sunday, October 30, from 8am for a leisurely ride around Melton, finishing with coffee at Lazy Moe’s. Bring bikes and helmets.

Cancer support

The Melton Cancer Support Group meets on the second Tuesday of each month, from 10.30am, at Melton Health, 195 Barries Road, Melton.

Buffet, broncos to aid charities

Enjoy an evening of harness racing, while raising funds for charities Combined Churches Caring foodbank, Western Health Foundation and Hope Street. It’s on Friday, October 21, from 6pm at Tabcorp Park, corner of Ferris Road and Western Freeway, Melton. Tickets cost $45, which includes a two-course buffet and racebook.

Kids as lifesavers

Children aged 8-14 will learn basic resuscitation and first-aid skills at a workshop on Tuesday, October 18, 4.15-5.45pm at the Hillside community centre, Royal Crescent. Tickets cost $25.

Seniors get active

Melton seniors are encouraged to get moving and dancing as part of Melton council’s Get Active initiative. The seniors’ dancing group gathers each Wednesday, 10am, October 17 to November 27, at Dancesport Westside, 1/21 Reserve Road, Melton.

Expo for supporters, carers

More than 50 people and groups who deliver support services or resources to carers, people with a disability or older people, will be exhibiting at the annual CARE Melton Expo from 10am-2pm on Thursday, October 13, at the Melton community hall, 232 High Street.

Learn new skills

Melton South Community Centre’s term four programs are out now. Classes in computers, languages, cooking, craft, beauty and first-aid are available.

A women’s support group meets on Mondays from 1pm at the Melton South Community Centre, 41 Exford Road.
