The Bacchus Marsh and Melton Regional hospital is reportedly being investigated over the deaths of 11 babies in the space of three years.
The 11 deaths at the Bacchus Marsh facility occurred during or shortly after birth, News Corp media has reported.
Health authorities are reportedly investigating whether some of these deaths could have been prevented.
A spokeswoman for Health Minister Jill Hennessy confirmed the minister would be holding a press conference at 9.30am on Friday.
It is understood that Ms Hennessy will be announcing the investigation into the hospital.
