Bacchus Marsh pupils jump to heart of appeal with record fund raising effort

SKIPPING ropes have been leapt over at record levels at Bacchus Marsh Grammar School.

Pupils from the junior school campus raised $15,446 for last year’s Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart.

It’s the largest amount ever raised by one school for the popular charity.

Grade 5 pupils Nazeeha and Dara (pictured) were among those awarded by Heart Foundation chief executive Kathy Bell on March 19.

The school’s community development co-ordinator, Cathy Perconte, says it was important to get pupils active and raise money for a good cause.

The school’s 2012 Jump Rope program for grades prep-6 pupils starts next term.
