Service changes

Those travelling on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines are advised to plan ahead, with significant service changes now in place from Sunday 11 January through to the last service on Friday 23 January due to Melton line upgrade works.

During this period, all Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough line trains will terminate at Bacchus Marsh Station. Passengers travelling beyond Bacchus Marsh will need to use replacement coaches or connecting services.

For Melton passengers, shuttle buses will run between Melton and Watergardens, with Sunbury line Metro trains operating between Watergardens and Southern Cross.

Replacement buses will operate for travel to Bacchus Marsh, while passengers heading to Ballarat, Ararat or Maryborough will need to catch a bus to Bacchus Marsh before continuing on a V/Line train.

Passengers at Cobblebank, Rockbank, Caroline Springs, Deer Park and Ardeer will need to catch a bus to Sunshine to connect with metro services to Southern Cross, or use replacement buses to Melton or Bacchus Marsh.

Additional night-time changes apply on some evenings between Monday 12 January and Thursday 15 January, with coaches replacing trains between Southern Cross and Bacchus Marsh.

Passengers are reminded that bikes are not permitted on some replacement buses, and extra travel time should be allowed.

Temporary timetables are available online at https://transport.vic.gov.au/plan-a-journey/public-transport-tools-and-resources/planned-disruptions/ballarat-ararat-and-maryborough-lines-disruptions.
