Rare silky bantam and brown-flecked Belgian hens will be fluttering around the old Bacchus Marsh racecourse this Saturday during the Bacchus Marsh and Melton Poultry Club’s annual poultry auction.
Secretary Joan Jenkins (pictured) says money raised will help the club stage its annual show in June.
“Our main aim is to teach the breeding of rare breeds so they don’t die out. It’s great to keep children educated and interested in poultry.”
Sheds open at 8.30am and, for $2, buyers can register after 10am. More details: 97435706
