Fellowship welcomes international guest speaker

Melton Grace Community Church is excited to welcome guest speakers from Mercy Ships International and is extending an invitation to the public.

The church’s Adult Fellowship Group, Graceful Fellowship, will be enlightened on a variety of topics, including cybersecurity, the experiences of local refugees, and the valuable work of charity organisations as part of this visit.

Mercy Ships International will speak at the church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 7, at 15-17 Yuille Street, Melton.

Mercy Ships is an international development organisation that deploys hospital ships and volunteers to developing nations.

Their mission is to improve the quality of life for people affected by the diseases of poverty, disfigurement, and disability through direct medical services and by building the capacity of healthcare systems to meet future needs.

The Adult Fellowship Group has undergone several name changes over the years but has always remained a vital part of the community for middle-aged and senior members.

Originally known as the ‘Ladies Guild,’ the group has embraced both female and male members for the past 25 years.

Elaine Radford, a member of Grace Community Church said that everyone is welcome to attend the event, regardless of whether they are members of the church.

“Our goal is to enjoy a happy and uplifting time of fellowship. The guest speakers are always a highlight, followed by lunch and a good chat. (BYO lunch; tea and coffee provided).”

“Our guest speakers enlighten us on a variety of topics…”

Grace Community Melton was first established as part of the Melton Shire on December 8, 1867, under the name Scotts Presbyterian Church, and has continued its worship since then.

On June 22, 1977, the congregations of the Methodist and Presbyterian churches came together to form the Uniting Church of Australia.

In 2020, Melton Uniting Church adopted the name Grace Community, an outreach of Melton Uniting Church.

The Fellowship meets on the first Wednesday of each month (excluding January), and meetings are open to everyone.
