Melton residents will get a chance to have their voices heard by participating in community research run by the City of Melton and Monash University.
The Monash University Migration and Inclusion Centre is working with local councils to conduct research on how to develop tailored strategies that enhance community feelings of safety and inclusion as well as preventing crime in public spaces.
The focus of the research will be on the safety of women and migrants within the local community.
People who identify as women and/or migrants living in the council areas of Melton, Wyndham and Monash are currently invited to express their interest in taking part in the research.
Participants will attend a one hour online focus group, a one-on-one walking interview in a public place and a three hour workshop with council representatives, local business owners and researchers.
Those who contribute their time will receive gift vouchers for participation in each activity.
