The City of Melton held a Reconciliation Week event on Friday, with speakers from the local Indigenous community and a flag raising ceremony.
Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung elder Julianne Axford gave a welcome to country speech to begin the event, followed by Kirrip Aboriginal Corporation chair Skye Gooch.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags were raised in ceremony with Melton mayor Goran Kesic and deputy mayor Lara Carli.
