Some much needed upgrades at Eynesbury Football Netball Club have helped the club to grow and prepare for the 2022 season ahead, including a brand new under-15s boys footy team.
Eagles 18s senior coach Aron Lombardi said everyone is excited and ready for the upcoming season.
“Training will start for our football and netball teams over the next few weeks for all of our different age groups and a lot is happening behind the scenes to ensure the 2022 season is a big success,” he said.
Lombardi said the under-15s team is starting to take shape
“…and like with most things around the club, excitement is high,” he said.
“The under 15s football team will be starting training next week and any interested new players are welcome.”
Lombardi said the biggest strength for the boys is a strong coaching team.
“Jye Ledin is coaching the team with Danny Whelan and both are amazing coaches with a strong football background,” Lombardi said.
“Jye has played football at a very high level, is a secondary school teacher and is a current junior interleague coach.
“Danny is a passionate football coach who, like Jye, played at a high level and is dedicated to coaching our under 15 team in 2022.”
Being the first under-15s the club has had, Lombardi said the players will need to learn to work together as a team and develop strong bonds with each other.
“Having a great coaching team and a fantastic group of players we are confident this will happen quickly once training starts and a successful 2022 awaits for the team,” Lombardi said.
The club has organised a special coaching clinic with organisation Time on the Ground for under 15 and under 13 footballers.
The session will be led by two expert coaches who will help players develop new skills and continue to grow as footballers.
All teams at the club will start their preseason training in the coming weeks.
“It is incredibly exciting for our netballers to be training on our new home courts and the footballers can’t wait to do their first ever preseason on our new oval,” Lombardi said.
“The club senior footballers start back next week and we are expecting a huge turn out which will be amazing.
“The new ground is starting to look really good. The playing surface is in much better condition than it has been previously.
“We have brand new club rooms and netball courts so we are all really excited for the season and I think the whole community is excited to be able to watch football and netball at brand new facilities.”
Lombardi said the Eagles is an amazing community based club with talented players, dedicated volunteers, passionate coaches.
“In 2022 we cannot wait to play in front of our amazing Eynesbury local community.”
