Eynesbury residents will soon have more reasons to take their four-legged friends for a stroll, thanks to a state government investment in more dog parks across the state.
The government recently announced it would develop 17 new dog parks in outer suburban and regional areas of the state, with Eynesbury one of the locations.
Energy, Environment and Climate Change Minister Lily D’Ambrosio said the parks were a reflection of the need for more recreation spaces, especially in areas of high growth in the state.
“Now more than ever, we realise the value of having open green space close to where we live – these new dog parks will deliver that for communities across Victoria,” Ms D’Ambrosio said.
“These dog parks are not only important for pet owners – building them will create local jobs and boost local businesses as we rebuild from the pandemic.”
The dog park locations were chosen through an expression of interest process with local councils. The government is now working in partnership with these councils to establish all the dog parks by late next year.
