Kick-start a KFC career

You may already know KFC stores are still open for takeaway during the coronavirus pandemic, but did you know they’re still looking for people to join their global team?

RG Restaurants chief people and culture officer Scott Quinn says they’re recruiting as normal for all stores and are keen to offer young people an opportunity to get into the workforce, with casual and part-time
positions currently available across the western suburbs.

“We’re still feeding locals, and we want locals looking for a great opportunity to come on board and start a great career with us,” Scott says.

“Plus you’ll make new friends, have fun and earn some cash!”

No experience? No worries! A full in-house training program is provided for newbies, incorporating safety and security, food service, customer service and specific training for each position.

The recruitment process involves a phone interview and then a ‘meet and greet’, where you’ll have the chance to have a chat, ask questions and see how it all works. From there, it’s just the paperwork side of it and you’ll be off and running.

KFC has implemented new processes and safety procedures in line with the COVID-19 government advice and has quickly updated the training program to reflect these.

“Our priority is to keep our staff and customers safe and do what we can to help communities get through these tough times,” Scott says.

“KFC is a massive part of the community and we’re continuing to grow. There’s plenty of community spirit out there that we’re a part of, and we’ve really seen this highlighted over the past few months.

“We have a strong focus on fostering people and driving culture within the business and stores.

“We offer graduate programs and promote internally as much as possible.

“Many of our team leaders, supervisors, managers and those in above store roles started as team members and worked their way up.

“We love seeing this career progression for our people and we’re here to help them develop skills and support them as they take on the workforce and grow in each role they undertake.

“We also have in-house social media communication platforms to keep the team engaged.”
