Breeders will show off their prized chooks at Footscray (at the Marsh) Poultry Club’s show on July 25. Regional Victoria’s best hens will be at Racecourse & Recreation Reserve, Bacchus Marsh, 10am-2pm.

Mortgage wellbeing

A mortgage wellbeing information session will be held from 7-8pm on Wednesday, July 29, at Caroline Springs library. Make an appointment with a lawyer, financial counsellor or social worker afterwards.

Free meditation classes are held at the Hillside Community Centre, Royal Crescent, Hillside, 2-3pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

Scholastic books

Diggers Rest Primary School will host a Scholastic Book Fair on July 23 and 24. The fair is open from 8.45am until 3.30pm, with plenty of new titles and specials on sale to help the school. Payments by cash, cheque or credit card.

 

Live a healthier life

A personal development workshop teaches the first steps towards living a healthier life, with strategies to help people lose weight, quit smoking and feel better. Next sessions are July 25-26 at Caroline Springs library, 9.30am-5.30pm.

Diggers Rest Lions Club and Diggers Rest Primary School will unveil a new war memorial on August 9 at the Diggers Rest Recreation Reserve to coincide with the anniversary of the Battle of Amiens in 1915. Check the Diggers Rest ANZAC commemoration Facebook page for details.

Drama classes

Children’s drama classes at Melton community hall will encourage creativity from an early age. They’ll be every Thursday until September 17. Classes for five to seven-year-olds run from 3.30-4.30pm, and for eight to 11-year-olds from 5-6pm.
