Halloween for young people

Celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 27 from 6-9pm at the Youth Resource Centre, 86 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing. Prizes for best dressed. Friday night events are for young people aged 12-17. $5 entry. Free food voucher upon entry, drinks and snacks available for sale for $1. Fully supervised, drug, alcohol and smoke free event.

Lifestyle and produce market

Check out more than 40 stalls, demonstrations and workshops on craft, food, coffee, plants and glass art on the first Saturday of each month at the Italian Social Club of Werribee, 601 Heaths Road, Werribee. There’s also live music and kids activities.

Community grocer

The Community Grocer, in collaboration with Wyndham council, runs a fresh food market in Wyndham where shoppers can buy fresh fruit and vegetables for a fraction of the price of supermarkets. The next market will be held on October 26 from 3-6pm at the Youth Resource Centre, 86 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing.

Everyone is welcome. Bring bags to reduce plastic use.

Free pap smears

Book in to have a free pap smear from an experienced female nurse practitioner at IPC Health, 117-129 Warringa Crescent, Hoppers Crossing. Women’s health nurse Gabriele is available on Mondays and Tuesdays and is also on hand to answer questions about sexual health, fertility, contraception and menopause. Interpreters available.

Try bowls day

The Hoppers Bowls Club will run a Try Bowls Day for anyone interested in giving lawn bowls a crack. Equipment and coaches provided. Everyone welcome. Free barbecue and the chance to win prizes included. Bring a friend, neighbor, family member. Sunday, October 29, from 11am-3pm.

Boo at the Zoo!
