It was all about flower power and beautiful blooms at the fifth annual State Rose and Garden Show at the weekend.

A record-breaking 16,114 people attended the two-day event at Werribee Park’s State Rose Garden, compared to the 11,813 people last year.

The free event included guided tours of the garden, plant stalls, lawn games for children, music performances and face-painting.

Channel Nine “Garden Angel” Melissa King and

Garden Guru’s Chloe Thomson demonstrated spring garden projects.

SBS celebrity gardener Vasili Kanidiadis also held a Garden to Kitchen presentation on both Saturday and Sunday.

Another television personality, Jane Edmanson from the ABC’s

Gardening Australia, spoke at the show on Sunday morning.
