Gymnasts invited to RecWest Braybrook sessions

Budding young gymnasts are being invited to RecWest Braybrook to try out new classes ahead of their official launch next year.

The YMCA Gymnastics programs will be launched with come-and-try days on December 11 and 16 before regular gymnastics classes start at the centre from February 5 next year.

YMCA Gymnastics will offer PreGym, KinderFun and GymFun classes for children aged one to nine. Classes will be determined by age, with each program involving suitable drills and skills.

RecWest YMCA manager Gerald Dixon said the launch was the result of growing popularity and strong community interest.

“We put a lot of energy into ensuring we are providing opportunities that relate to local needs and interests and providing a gymnastics program to the Maribyrnong community has been identified as a priority,” he said.

“Gymnastics promotes co-ordination, strength and agility, and YMCA gymnastics provides participants with the best program available.”

The December 11 come-and-try day will run sessions from 9am-noon and 3-6pm. The December 16 session will run from 9am-noon.

Enrolment packs and show bags will be provided, there will be a barbecue and an appearance by YMCA mascot Philbert.

Pre-registration is essential via 9311 3400 or recwestbraybrook.ymca.org.au.
