Market treasures

The Werribee Ladies for Kids, working for the Royal Children’s Hospital, will host a shop at the Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre from Monday, October 1 until Sunday, October 7. Knitted and crocheted items for sale include jumpers, footy rugs, beanies, scarves and teddies. There will also be jams and other market treasures available.

Out of Africa

Ranger to Ranger is a heart-warming documentary that follows the epic journey of a group of indigenous Australian rangers as they travel to Kenya to share knowledge, culture and music with a tribe of Maasai community rangers. It will screen at Werribee Open Range Zoo on September 15, starting with an African walking trail and entertainment at 5.15pm. The event will conclude with a Q&A session.

Art exhibition

The Werribee District Historical Society is holding an exhibition of the work of the late Esther Murray, Werribee artist and historian, at the Werribee Museum, 49 Watton Street. Open every Saturday from 10am-1pm and every Tuesday from 10am-3pm until the end of September.

Museums Victoria will partner with The Push to present the Scienceworks Sync Orchestra to engage teens in electronic music. The orchestra will perform Saturday, September 22 from 6-10pm at Scienceworks, 2 Booker Street, Spotswood. The new permanent exhibition Beyond Perception: Seeing the Unseen will also be on show.

Bowling with babies

Mums and bubs get together each Friday from 10am to 1.30pm at the Werribee Bowls Club, Chirnside Park, 237 Watton Street, to socialise and have a game of indoor bowls. Mum’s groups welcome.
