DETECTIVES from the major collision investigation unit are appealing for witnesses to a crash which killed a woman and left two others with serious injuries in Plumpton yesterday.
Police believe a silver Subaru sedan was travelling west on Taylors Road when it veered into the path and collided with an east-bound gold Mercedes Benz wagon just after 4.30pm.
A 54-year-old Sunshine woman, who was travelling in the Subaru, died at the scene.
The driver, a 27-year-old man, and a 20-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, were airlifted to The Alfred hospital with serious injuries.
A 19-year-old woman, also travelling in the Subaru, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a 44-year-old Caroline Springs woman, was not injured.
A 10-year-old boy, also travelling in the Mercedes-Benz, was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.
