Credit card stolen, used
Residents are being urged to lock their cars and remove valuables after more thefts from cars in Melton. Police said a credit card was stolen from a car parked in Springwood Court, Brookfield, on October 1 and later used in Melton.
Burnouts cost driver his car
A Delahey man, 26, had his car impounded for 30 days after being caught doing burnouts on the Melton Highway, Hillside, at 12.03am on October 2. He will be charged on summons with careless driving and improper use of a motor vehicle and will face Bacchus Marsh Magistrates Court. Owners of impounded cars must pay $799, as well as any fines imposed in a court, before their vehicle can be released.
Thieves go hammer and tongs
Police are seeking information after a sledgehammer was used on automatic glass doors of Chemist Warehouse in Burnside. Offenders tried to steal a safe about 4.20am on September 28 before leaving the site.
Burglars get away with jewellery
More than $10,000 of jewellery and electronics were stolen from a James Court, Hillside, house on October 1 between 10am and 3.30pm.
