Ferris Road finally gets traffic lights

RELIEF is finally in sight for one of Melton’s most notorious intersections. Planning Minister Matthew Guy today announced $1.5 million for traffic lights at Ferris Road interchange.

It comes only days after it was nominated in a RACV survey as one of Victoria’s top 10 most frustrating traffic trouble spots.

For years, police, Melton Council and the city’s MPs have repeatedly pushed for signals.

The Ferris Road works are among a $7 million package of key Growth Area Infrastructure Contribution projects across Melbourne to be fast-tracked by the government.

“This project will significantly enhance the local community and increase capacity to cater for existing and future growth area residents,” Mr Guy said.

“The new intersection will also benefit users of the adjacent Tabcorp Park harness racing and entertainment facility.”
